5 Apps to Boost Productivity and Focus

Over the period of time, no matter how much we try to convince ourselves about our lifestyles, it gets all the more complicated. When it’s about having a productive living, all we can think of is work!

We think that a productive life is being successful at work and earning money, but little do we know, that it’s our growth and development that defines productivity. But how can we achieve that without being affected otherwise? With so many applications available online these days, finding what we need isn’t so complicated anymore.

Here are few apps to boost productivity and focus:

1. Elevate

Elevate is a new type of reasoning training tool designed to build communication and analytical skills. It is a brain training program designed to improve attention, speaking skills, processing speed, memory, math skills etc.
This app provides every individual with a personalized training program that adjusts over time to maximize results. Engaging more in this application can help an individual gain cognitive skills which further helps in boosting productivity along with self-confidence.Features:

2. Calm

Every morning we wake up, but there is something else which wakes up with us – numerous thoughts; thoughts about past, some incidents, a movie, TV show, fight with a supervisor, etc. etc.

We wake up with these thoughts, carry them while brushing, under the shower, driving to work and being ignorant about our surroundings the whole time. And then, one fine day, we tell this to ourselves ‘Oh Gosh!! It’s been a year – a year in this job, this rented place, same neighborhood… Time just flies by’.

We forget that time keeps running at its own pace and it’s us who are constantly occupied with these thoughts. These thoughts will never let us live our life completely in Present (a gift) which is exactly why we feel that time passed in just a blink of an eye.

So now that we have identified the problem, what could be the solution?

Answer: TAME the UNTAMED – Our Mind!
It’s not our mind’s fault for thinking worldly things because that the only thing it knows. But it’s our responsibility to keep it from wandering around. And how you do that? Train it!
Train it to think what you want it to think – like positive thoughts, happy thoughts, motivating thoughts and more. It’s us who should be in control of our mind and not vice versa. So here is when ‘CALM’ comes to our rescue. Calm is an app available both at play and app store which helps you in keeping your mind stable and calm as the name suggests.

3. 7 Minute Workout

This application makes even the most boring person get some work out. 7 minute workout is based on high intensity circuit training, which is known to be the most real and proficient training in improving fitness and overall health. The app has short videos/gifs to demonstrate each exercise which goes on back to back, for about 7 minutes!
Being busy is an everyday thing, but taking that small break from the daily hustle and investing it on yourself can help you in the long run. A quick-fit workout before or after work with appropriate diet and timings, can help you see the difference yourself. As suggested, it can be one way of growing productive by being healthy.

If you are worrying about the kind of workout it might have, let me start by saying that it has only 12 exercises – each of 30 seconds with 10 seconds break after each workout. That’s not a lot!

Features:
Google Fit support
Voice guidance
Adjustable circuit time
Adjustable rest time
Keep the screen on when you work out
Beautiful character and UI design
Workout log shows your complete workout time
Ability to pause the workout, and skip to the next or the previous exercise
Notifications for daily workout

4. Memoires- The Diary

With time I have learned that, to improve ourselves, we need to constantly push ourselves towards correcting our mistakes. Though we cannot make changes to the mistakes we committed before, we can still try to avoid doing the same.
This application is like a virtual diary – one that you don’t have to carry around. It gives you a quick look at the special moments, thoughts that crept inside your mind when you were either happy or sad, lets you add photos to your notes/write-ups, and log your daily activities! It also detects your location, weather etc. and adds it to your note/memo.
I used this app to mostly to record what I did the whole day, especially the activities that lead me to issues or glitches, so that I can always go back and check on those in the future. I personally feel – for a productive life, we need to keep asking a little extra from ourselves so that we can do better and better with each passing day. There is always room for improvement, isn’t there?

Features:
– Data protection with password.
– Timeline, Calendar, Map and Album views.
– Unlimited amount of photos captured or images attached (Storage space is limited by the size of SD card)
– Audio recordings as attachments
– Emotions (smileys)
– Configurable fonts and font size
– “Flow of thoughts” as an additional way to keep memories linked to each other and organized as continues conversation.
– Full two-way synchronization with users’ Google account.
– Export images to Google Picasa album.

5. Fathm- Time Management

(Sadly, this app is currently available for Apple users only)

This one is my favorite! More because it takes the least memory in my phone. If you are someone who loves to keep track of your time spent every day, this one app is just apt for you! Like we use those expense management apps these days to maintain our budget and keep track of our spending, Fathm allows you to do exactly the same thing for you – except that it tracks your time and not money. But you know, time = money anyway, so there is not a lot of difference out there. Also, to be productive, it is equally important to know how you are investing your time each day.

Fathm not only does the basic job (that it is meant to do), but it also makes logging in time easy and interesting. The interface is quite user friendly and the colorful pie charts and time logs makes it beautifully handcrafted sorts!

Download this app today and enjoy the easiest way of being productive by tracking your time and spending it the right way.
